Our Sweet Baby Girl

I was 15 when I was told I would never have kids of my own, 5 years later I got pregnant with my daughter.

When I was 23 weeks, I went into infection induced labor, and by the time I got to the hospital I was already 5cm dilated and in active labor.. I was life flighted to a bigger hospital that had a NICU, even though all the Dr’s knew there was no hope for my baby.. it was too late to stop labor, and she was too little to save. I ended up having a c-section, because she was breech, and they told me it would be the only possible chance for her to live, so I took that chance.. I would have done anything if it gave her even a .001% chance of life. She lived for a couple hours, but nothing could be done.

Seven short months later, I got pregnant again. I was watched very carefully my entire pregnancy. Because of the type of c-section I had the first time, I had to have one again, and couldn’t go past 37 weeks pregnant. My son was born at 36 weeks 3 days, on October 12, 2012.

At first everything was going great! He was a perfectly healthy 7lb little boy! Then about 3 hours later, he started making noises like he couldn’t breathe. Dr after Dr came in, and eventually he was taken to the NICU to be put on oxygen and have tests done to figure out what was wrong. It ended up being nothing too serious, he got fluid in his lungs which caused pneumonia, but he had to stay in the NICU for a week to get antibiotics. It was a very stressful time for us, even knowing that he was ok and everything would be fine. It was still very hard.

Now he is a very, very happy extremely spoiled almost 9 month old little boy, who is my absolute world!
